Our Before and After Care Program serves Huntingtown Elementary School with bus transportation to and from our center. We allow our “Big Kids” time to relax, socialize, and have a snack before leaving for the bus. Once they get back to the center, we provide another snack, work on homework with help, give them some time to run around outside, and decompress from a long and busy day at school. We provide care for the days that school is out including in-service days, scheduled days off, delayed starts or early dismissals, and any unexpected closures or delays, provided that we are still open that day. This program follows our hours of operation for care from 5:30am-6pm.
Many children who attend this program actually live in the Prince Frederick area, outside of the districted area for Huntingtown Elementary. Those parents attain a School Transfer, as long as both parents are employed. If your child attends our center during Pre-k, you will have priority for Before and After Care, but it is not always guaranteed since spaces are limited. In the past, we have occasionally been able to provide care for children who attend Elementary School on certain days or just morning or evening care. If you would like more information about what we offer, please don’t hesitate to call our Director to discuss your options.
Our Summer Program for our School-aged children runs from the last day of school until the start of school the following year. Summer care includes multiple trips each week to various places around our area, with some of our favorites including visits to Six Flags America, Medieval Times Lunch and Tournament, The National History Museum, Pirate Adventures on the Chesapeake, and Cove Point Water Park, among others. We also visit The Prince Frederick Library each week to check out the summer shows, check out books for reading time, and participate in their workshops. We also keep our skills sharp by practicing and writing in workbooks during the summer quiet times, certain Technology Days and lots of art crafts. This program requires a special Activity Fee that includes a shirt to wear for trips, all the entrance fees, some included lunches and special snacks, and any other costs associated.
